Holiday tips for your dog

A few reminders as we head into December!

1. Some dogs aren’t going to enjoy being involved in parties. Sometimes you want to enjoy the party without watching them. It’s 100% okay to give the dog a good run beforehand, then put them away during family & friend gatherings. Chances are everyone will be able to relax and enjoy it more!

2. More kids get bitten at this time of year than any other. Advocate for your dog (no matter how tolerant they might appear), use a leash to keep things under control if needed and again - put the dog away if you have any concerns about their ability to cope or visitors ability to control their children. It doesn’t matter who the child or dog is - dogs are not for climbing on, kissing on the face or rowdy games with young kids.

3. Your dog doesn’t actually care whether you buy them a big Christmas present or how much you spend. Don’t feel pressured to keep up with social media dog mums especially in the current economic climate - your dogs love language is quality time with you. Training together, heading on adventures or just hanging out without the screens in between are all excellent gifts for your dog this year. ❤️
