Te Awamutu Dog Training Classes
Foundation Class
You got your dog to get out and enjoy adventures together, but it’s hard to know how to get there or to find safe spaces to teach them to listen around other dogs - leaving you feeling stuck and isolated. That’s why Wolfe Dogs group classes were created. Over the 6 week course you and your dog will learn essential life skills, basic obedience and build confidence working around other dogs in a supportive group class environment.
Work On Skills Around Other Dogs
✅ Leash Walking
✅ Sit/Down Stay
✅ Recall (using a long line)
✅ Settle on Place
✅ Play
✅ Impulse Control (Leave it!)
Puppies
We welcome puppies from 16 weeks (fully vaccinated). This is a great space to work on those life skills and socialise your puppy in how to be around other dogs without directly interacting.
Adolescent Dogs
Have a teenage dog who is just starting to lose their ears and being a challenge out and about? This is a great time to get training support and practice those listening ears with other dogs around.
Adult Dogs
With no upper age limit, we have trained dogs right through to seniors! Provided dogs are in good health and not overtly aggressive they are welcome in this class regardless of breed or age.

“I have just completed the foundation classes with my 7 month old puppy. Kelly is calm and very easy to work with. She understands what makes dogs tick and is able to pass her knowledge and tricks into the owners so that we can get the best out of our dogs. I signed up to the six week foundation course with the hope of learning how to give my pup the best start to training, confidence to be out and about around other dogs and people. We have gained huge confidence through this training, the change in our group from the first week to the last was remarkable. Calm dogs and confident owners. Thank you so much Kelly!”

“As first time puppy caregivers we really appreciated Kelly's Foundation Class - her gentle guidance and expertise shared in a calm and reassuring manner alleviated our anxiety and has greatly helped us in managing our puppies. We are more confident in our ability to continue with ongoing training and developing a deeper bond with our dogs. Thanks Kelly. We look forward to joining in the Open Classes.”

“I couldn’t recommend Kelly enough, First we had Kelly come out to our house to do a at “home session” to help manage a few herdy behaviours - she nailed it and made such a difference for our boy Marlo! We then did the foundation classes that she also offers and they have been amazing! Full of helpful, honest tips, she accommodates to each dogs needs with no judgement or hassle. I love that she is creating a community of like minded people who can get together and learn in safe places aswell! Thank you so much Kelly for trying to make such a difference for dogs and their owners 🥰.”

Finished Foundation and wondering what’s next? Continue learning with us even after you’ve completed Foundation Class! With the Next Steps class we take these skills out to different locations over a set 6 week curriculum. We also have casual open classes for Foundation Graduates to catch up socially and brush up on your skills. It all starts with the skills we learn in Foundation though!
