Dog training is simple but it’s not easy

As a concept, dog training is pretty simple. There’s the same learning theory and good training mechanics underlying most of what we do. And this information is a big part of why you hire a dog trainer - to take our years and years of experience and extensive education, and boil it down to what you actually need to know and do to suit your individual dogs LEGS (learning, environment, genetics, self) to reach your personal goals with your dog. I love to teach dog owners like you to get you on the right track and living a happier, less conflicted life with your dog.

But that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. While I can give you the practical and theoretical tools, give you some hacks to speed things up and be your cheerleader in reaching your goals, the hard part is showing up. Prioritising putting the work into your dog, whether you feel like it or not, rain or shine, and putting your learning into practice.

Because dogs don’t learn through talking about this stuff. They learn through getting the reps in, understanding the patterns and building the relationship with you that can only come with time spent together. And that’s often the difference between a good result, and an excellent result.

I’ll train your dog & offer work and train options as a partially “done for you” service - I collect your dog during the week, take them out and get them understanding the behaviours in different contexts. But they are always in conjunction with owner coaching. Because you also need to be learning and more importantly - applying - what you’re both learning if you want lasting, meaningful change.

Dog training can be simple, but it’s not always easy. Keep showing up and putting the work in.
