The first rule of dog training - do what works for you and your dog.

If I had a dollar for every time I turned up to a consult and the client said to me “I know you’re not supposed to do this, but my dog sleeps on the bed/lies on the couch/gets treats from my dinner plate” etc. 😅

Here’s the thing. It’s only a problem if it’s a problem for you guys.

If your dog sleeps on your bed and your partner has to sleep in another room to avoid being eaten in their sleep, then yeah we might need to change that.

If your dog lies on the couch with eyes glued to the windows ready to explode at the first thing that walks past, yup something might need to change in that set up.

But if it’s working for you and your dog and not causing any issues? You do you. 🎉
